Creating something from wood

Making clocks, pepper mills and lamps from wood – all of that and much more is possible at the workshops that the Bizau-based Bär company organises in the Bregenzerwald. The idea is right on trend because the more digital the world becomes, the greater the desire is to make something from scratch with your own hands. The open workshop has everything for which there is often no space at home and participants are able learn to make things and immerse themselves in woodworking under the guidance of professionals. When they leave, it will be with a great feeling and something they have made themselves.

Programmes are tailored to group sizes, accompanied by culinary delights sourced from the company’s own organic farm and, if desired, rounded off with a short tour of the farm.

LED table lamps with integrated cell phone charging stations are very popular and really practical. And who else is able to actually say that they have created a designer piece like that themselves? This workshop gives everyone the opportunity to do so. The lamp can then be given pride of place at home or on the desk at the office.

Rustic, finely polished, round, angular – everything is possible and ideas are free to flow. Participants at the clock workshop will learn how to use various tools and techniques – they will have learned new things and have a unique piece to display at the end.

Familiarity with the material itself but also with the gems being dried is required when the intention is to make a herb dryer from wood. Twice as interesting to people with gardens. And besides, it is incredibly exciting to use your own skills to create something that is really practical.

This workshop is just the thing for people wanting to try their hand at making picture frames. The designs may be of any shape and size, the ideas may be creative and unusual. The professional will then assist with implementation while all the other team members will also be able help to each other with the work.
