Those doing good things should talk about it! Involve your guests, inform them about sustainable travel and accommodation options, and thereby boost environmental awareness. The Austrian Ecolabel can play a key role in communication.

Ideas & Tips for Implementation
Communication of measures internally
Initial meetings serve to get everyone involved and clarify together whether they are willing to participate in making the event sustainable. After all, a sustainable event can only be successfully implemented if all partners - from catering to event venue - are on board. Otherwise, it can lead to unnecessary additional work and costs later on.
Communication of measures externally
Organisers inform all participants at an early stage about the sustainable measures taken. This information is communicated via the invitation, registration forms, website, programme folder or other suitable media. The aim is to motivate all participants to support and actively participate in the event's sustainability standards in order to make a positive joint contribution to the environment.
Practical tip: Set up a page with all relevant information which can then be continually updated and already included in the invitation.
On-site contact persons
A qualified contact person will be announced who will be available to all participants and the public for enquiries before, during and after the event.
Feedback
Feedback from participants is important for finding out whether sustainability measures were duly noticed, and where there’s room for improvement. In this way, an event can be constantly optimized and made even more environmentally friendly.
There are various tools to support event hosts, such as carrying out a survey on Survio or similar.
